This is the 1985 album by Ornette Coleman's group, Ornette & Prime Time, which was launched in 1975 by the American saxophonist who, needless to say, has had a tremendous influence on numerous musicians, including Don Cherry, as one of the fathers of free jazz. The album features Bern Nix (g), Charles Ellerbee (g), Jamaaladeen Tacuma (b), Albert McDowell (b), Donardo Coleman (ds), and Sabir Kamal (ds), and captures the recording of a live performance at the Caravan of Dreams in Fort Worth, Texas. Demonstrating a danceable performance with an avant-garde approach reminiscent of Arthur Russell's Dinosaur L, blending free jazz with funk and no-wave, the album showcases Coleman's remarkable attitude of constantly seeking evolution rather than adhering to a fixed stance.
