An instrumental group from Brazil founded by violinist and conductor Cussy de Almeida, who is known for his contributions to the artistic movement known as Movimento Armorial. This 1987 album by the Orquestra de Cordas Dedilhadas de Pernambuco features a 12-piece orchestra consisting of bandolins, cavaquinho, three northeastern violas, violão (acoustic guitar), double bass, and percussion. The ensemble presents an innovative style that performs Pernambuco’s traditional musical forms—maracatu, baião, choro, and frevo—in refined chamber music and orchestral arrangements.
