This is the debut album released in 1983 by Oslo 13, a group comprised of 13 Norwegian musicians, including pianist Jon Balke, who also left his mark on ECM with his works, and his brother, saxophonist Erik Balke. The album showcases experimental big band jazz with a rich horn ensemble, incorporating elements of street music and ethnic emotions. The songs feature intricate compositions that feel like watching a movie, with twists and turns throughout. Standout tracks include the impressive A3 with its catchy percussion-driven beat and the delightful, moody contemporary jazz of B3/B4, reminiscent of drifting night fog. The artwork is also lovely.
A3: Anti-Therapy
B3: For Den Siste
B4: Intro Til Frup
