This 1988 album by Ouardia, a female singer who authentically carries on the traditional music of the Kabyle region facing the Mediterranean Sea in North Africa's Algeria. Released on the Globe Style label, which has released many modern world music albums from North Africa and Arab countries. The album features lyrics in Kabyle, a Berber language used in northern Algeria, and is a rich collection of modern Kabyle music where Ouardia's unique, nuanced vocals perfectly blend with the rounded darbouka rhythms and intricate oud melodies. The recording and sound quality are also excellent.
