Overtone, a German jazz trio consisting of Chris Beier (p), Rainer Glas (b) and Rudi Roth (ds, per, vo), released their only album for Workshop Records in 1984. The album's first track, A1, features an effective bass solo that reminds us of Turkish jazz by Okay Temiz, followed by a bright piano solo and a transition to Turkish-like jazz again. This is a spiritual contemporary jazz work that absorbs and sublimates ethnic, free, bop, modal and everything in between. Highly recommended.

A1: You don’t know what I love is
A2: But not for me
B1: Softly as in a morning sunrise
