Released in 1981 by Brazilian percussionist and berimbau player Papete, who had been active since the 1970s. Featuring Almir Sater. A beautifully accomplished work of natural psychedelic Brazilian music, filled with the strong sunlight of Bahia and an unmistakably positive spirit. Highlights include A1, composed by Almir Sater, where the viola seems to soar skyward, met by the open, radiant resonance of berimbau and percussion; and A2, where the flowing sound of acoustic guitar, the warm pulse of berimbau and percussion, and Papete’s organic vocals sink deeply into the heart.

A1: Luzeiro
A2: Esse Mar Vai Dar Na Bahia
