A 1973 release by Passport, the jazz-rock group led by veteran German saxophonist Klaus Doldinger, a true heavyweight who’s been active since the 1950s. From the trippy synth intro and relentlessly progressive, high-tech jazz-rock drive of A1 to the jazz-funk B1 that shifts from blowing sax lines into a tight, funky ensemble, this is a fast-paced, Moog- and Mellotron-fueled jazz-rock masterpiece with a sweeping, symphonic edge. Widely regarded as the group’s finest album.
A1: Eternal Spiral
