Pat Metheny's 1984 ECM release is a trio album featuring Charlie Haden (b) and Billy Higgins (d). side A features songs by Horace Silver and Ornette Coleman with a delicate touch. side A features songs by Horace Silver and Ornette Coleman with a delicate touch, and side B features two Metheny originals and one co-write with Haden. Metheny's originals are outstanding, and B1 is a symbol of Metheny's sound, with the unique tones of guitar and synth floating in a clear and deep space. The second track, "B2", is the best of all. The flood of Metheny's guitar and Higgins' drums may sound avant-garde for a moment, but if you concentrate on the music, a very sensitive world awaits you.
