This duo album was released in 1973 by Paul Bley, one of Canada's foremost jazz pianists, and Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen, a Danish bassist who has played with the Ornette Coleman Quartet, the Jazz Composer's Orchestra and many other groups. Recorded in Copenhagen in the same year, the album contains almost all Paul Bley compositions, with only B5 featuring a tune by Annette Peacock. The album is a masterpiece of early Steeple Chase, with a picture-perfect, floating performance of the two musicians, including the deep A2, with its gently tremoloing electric piano and bowed wood bass. The album was released in 1980 on the Japan Phonogram <Modern Jazz Collection> series.
