Soul Note (Italy) 1984
SN 1085 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(wear on edge and corner.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly surface noises.)

This album was released in 1984 by Paul Bley, one of Canada's leading jazz pianists, who has played with the Ornette Coleman Quartet and the Jazz Composer's Orchestra, as well as with his own group, and has produced a number of masterpieces. Featuring then-unknown drummer/percussionist George McDonald, Bley's signature quirky acoustic piano playing is still present, but this album also showcases a more subtle sensibility, and McDonald's percussion adds even more depth and creates a unique spatiality. The world view is similar to that of Yosuke Yamashita and Masahiko Togashi's classic album 'Kizashi'. Soul Note has many good titles.
