An album released in 1984 by Paul Bley, one of Canada's leading jazz pianists, who has been active since the 1950s, contributing to the Ornette Coleman Quartet and the Jazz Composer's Orchestra, as well as leaving numerous masterpieces with his own group. Except for the famous track A3, composed by Prince Lasha and Sonny Simmons and also played by Eric Dolphy, all the other pieces are original scores by Bley, written specifically for this work. This album features deep piano solos expressed with the profound nuance and distinctive pauses that are Bley's hallmark. Highly recommended.
