Paul Bley, one of Canada's leading jazz pianists, has been active since the 1950s, playing with the Ornette Coleman Quartet and Jazz Composer's Orchestra, as well as with his own group, and has recorded many masterpieces. This album released on ECM in 1970. He played with Gary Peacock(b), Paul Motian (drums). And Billy Elgart (drums) on three tracks of B-side. The album features not only Bley's original compositions but also Ornette Coleman's and Jerome Kern's tunes, and the orthodox bop style is also performed, but slow numbers such as A2/B2/B4 composed by Annette Peacock already show Bley's deep world view. Bley's deep worldview is already apparent in slow numbers such as A2/B2/B4 composed by Annette Peacock. Gary Peacock's bass is also super cool.
