A solo album released in 1981 by German pianist Paul Schwarz, whose duo work with Bernd Konrad, "Sali," released in 1986, is also excellent. Percussionist Joe Koinzer joins on four tracks. Although Paul Schwarz is strongly oriented toward contemporary music, A4 is interesting for its unique world of mixed positive energy and experimental elements reminiscent of Matthias Frey, where the dissonance of acoustic piano and ominous drone form a deep ambience. B5 is a simple ensemble of a piano solo and percussion, but it is a different kind of usual contemporary/free jazz.
