A promotional 12-inch single featuring four mixes of the main title track from Brooklyn, the 1987 album by saxophonist Peter Gordon, a key figure in New York’s No Wave scene who was also closely connected with Arthur Russell. The music makes bold use of breakbeats, with danceable fuzzed-out drums, clean guitar, and bright horns cutting through in a tight, solid mix. The result is an electronic, highly danceable sound that connects directly with the kind of New York dance music associated with the Sleeping Bag scene. One of the alternate versions, unavailable on the album, is especially notable for its Arabic-style vocal feature. Issued in a gatefold sleeve with an inner pocket. Includes release information, a portrait, and five baseball cards.
