American bassist/cellist Peter Warren, who has deep ties with Japanese jazz musicians, including the trio album "Trinity" with Masahiko Sato and Pierre Favre, and the quartet album "Vibrations" with Terumasa Hino, released this leader album in 1982 from ECM's sub-label Japo. John Purcell, John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette, and Ray Anderson participate. This is an excellent album that develops energetic and deep contemporary/experimental jazz throughout, including the amazing A1 with John Purcell's primitive saxophone playing, A2 with an Afro-spiritual taste reminiscent of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, and B1 with an excellent flowing bass playing reminiscent of Eberhard Weber.
A1: Riff-Raff
B1: Mlle, Jolie
