American saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, who joined John Coltrane's group in the mid-1960s and suggested a new form of jazz together, continued his work after Coltrane's death and left many spiritual jazz masterpieces. This is a leader album released in 1972, featuring Cecil McBee(b), Stanley Clarke(b), Norman Connors(ds), Carlos Garnett(ts), Joe Bonner(p), Marvin Peterson(tp), William Hart(ds), Lawrence Killin( per). This is a very long journey that devotes both sides of the album to a single song on the theme of "Black Unity". While inheriting the Sheets of Sound that Sanders and Coltrane pursued together, this album is a masterpiece of deep spiritual jazz, creating a unique groove backed by multi-ethnicity and religiosity. This is a masterpiece that can be called a milestone among Sanders' works. This is '80s remastered edition by direct cutting using DMM, the sound quality is clear and different from the original.
