An album released in 1974 by American saxophonist Phil Woods, who has been active on the front lines since the 1950s, showcasing his skills in numerous groups including those led by Dizzy Gillespie, Friedrich Gulda, and Gil Evans. In 1970, he left a masterpiece under the name His European Rhythm Machine, leading a group with Daniel Humair and Henri Texier. This album features a one-horn quartet with Jaki Byard (piano), Richard Davis (bass), and Alan Dawson (drums). It opens with A1, which begins with Davis’s innovative bass solo, and includes A2, an homage to Miles Davis's classic "All Blues." The album also covers compositions by Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, and Michel Legrand, delivering a masterful performance filled with groovy and refined play. The rhythm section's performance is exceptional.

A1: Samba Du Bois
A2: Willow weep for Me
