Pierre Henry, who together with Pierre Schaeffer founded the GRMC (Groupe de recherche de musique concrète) within the French National Broadcasting Company in the early 50's, invented the music concrète, a new style of contemporary music using sound and recording technology. This is a historical masterpiece released in 1968. The music was created for a stage performance by choreographer Maurice Bejart, and includes A1, a mix of psychedelic rock by composer Michel Colombier and electronic sounds by Henry, and A2/B1, which consist solely of electronic resonances. Even after more than 50 years, their innovative ideas still stimulate the listener.
A1: Messe Pour Le Temps Present
B2: Variations Pour Une Porte Et Un Soupir
