Released in 1973, this is a collaborative album by guitarist Ralph Towner and bassist Glen Moore, both of whom have made excellent recordings since the early days of ECM and are also members of the ethnic jazz group Oregon. The lyrical guitar/bass duos and solos by Towner and Moore are of course excellent, but it's the subtle melodic interplay of all the parts over the tabla rhythm on tracks like A1 that makes this album a real treat. The lyrical guitar/bass duo and solos by Towner and Glen Moore are of course excellent, but the breathtaking performance on tracks like A1, where all the parts are layered on top of the tabla rhythm, is 100% Oregon.
