Acoustic Guitars
Stunt Records (Denmark) 1987
STULP 8703 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(some wear on edge and corner.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noise.)
The 1987 debut album by Acoustic Guitars, a Danish guitar trio consisting of Mikkel Nordsø, Christian Ratzer, and Steen Kyed, who have also collaborated with Kenneth Knudsen. Featuring two nylon-string guitars and one steel-string guitar, the group delivers a lyrical and emotionally expressive ensemble sound throughout—showing influences from flamenco and Django Reinhardt while evoking the poetic depth of Germany’s Kolbe & Ralf Illenberger and the American guitarist Michael Hedges. Highlights include A3, with its beautifully flowing layered melodies, and A4, featuring Ole Theill on tabla. A superb and highly recommended album.
