This album was Areleased in 1966 by Ray Bryant, American pianist who was the house pianist for Blue Note in the fifties, playing in the backing bands of Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie, and who became popular for his R&B and soul-infused style from the late fifties and early sixties onwards. The Grup was joined with Richard Davis (b), Freddie Waits (dr), Clark Terry (fh) and Snooky Young (fh). A soul-jazz masterpiece featuring A1, a soulful sublimation of a folk song written and left by Lee Hays, as well as funky arrangements of his own original songs, Thelonious Monk classics, film music and standard numbers.
