This album was released in 1961 by Red Garland, an American pianist who joined the Miles Davis Quintet in the mid to late 50's and gained popularity with the group he formed in 1959. The album is a jazz ballad album featuring musical songs and standard numbers composed by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. The tempo is very slow throughout, and the performance is full of emotion, both fragile and lovely. This is a Japenase reissue in the early 90s.
