Swiss saxophonist Urs Leimgruber, who has worked with Christy Doran and Barre Phillips, was joined by Don Friedman (piano), Bobby Burri (b) and Joel Allouche (dr, perc). The group Reflexionen released this album in 1984. Sophisticate piece A1, with its soft touch of piano and soprano saxophone, is an elegant contemporary jazz piece in the vein of ECM, with free-form improvisation and a sense of tenderness. The ethnic jazz B2, featuring tabla rhythms and reminiscent of Oregon, is also excellent.
