The second album by Rene Van Helsdingen, a Dutch pianist/composer born in Jakarta, Indonesia, who in the 1980s left behind a crossover music that docks electronics with oriental sounds using Asian folk instruments, was released in 1979. Recorded in a studio in California, the album features hard bop and emotional piano solos along with his own original compositions, but the tone and touch are original and very listenable. A2, which features vocals, is also very good. Please give it a listen.
