An album released in 1972 by the American jazz bassist Richard Davis, who had been active in Sarah Vaughan's band from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s and had participated in numerous sessions with artists like Eric Dolphy and Andrew Hill. Besides his jazz work, he also performed on albums by artists from different genres, including Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen. This album features a quintet with exceptional musicians such as Joe Bonner on piano, Clifford Jordan on tenor sax, Hannibal Marvin Peterson on trumpet, and Freddie Waits on drums. It captures live recordings from a 1972 performance. The album showcases impressive themes that lead into intense interplay, with both sides featuring extended spiritual sessions lasting over 22 minutes each. The latter part of Side B, with its Afro-ethnic influences, is particularly outstanding
