Ritmia
Forse Il Mare
La Clapa Rusa (Italy) 1986
D 003 (LP) Original pressing.
sleeve : EX-(IN SHRINK, some small and slightly dirts.)
media : EX-/EX-(some slightly noise. some slightly hairlines that does not affect to sounds.)
This album was introduced in the first edition of the guidebook Obscure Sound. It is the sole release and a hidden masterpiece by the Italian group Ritmia—comprising Alberto Balia (g), Enrico Frongia (vo, g), Daniele Craighead (ss, fl, etc.), and Riccardo Tesi (org, perc)—issued in 1986. While details remain scarce, the record presents progressive folk music infused with a Mediterranean atmosphere, elevating traditional folk music of southern Italy through contemporary arrangements. From A1 and A2, where raw acoustic guitar lines and chants intertwine dynamically with primitive percussive rhythms, to the warm, folkloric, acoustic live sound that pervades the album, the results are truly wonderful. Along the Mediterranean coast, there exists a wealth of music that both inherits tradition and creates new artistic forms, and this record is an outstanding example. Highly recommended. Original Italian pressing.
