ROB
Funky Rob Way
Analog Africa (Germany) 2011
AALP-DE 02 (LP) Reissue, Limited edition
sleeve : EX+(IN SHRINK, slight scuffs on 2 corners)
media : EX+/EX+(some parts have slight crackling noise)
This is a 2011 official reissue of the 1977 debut album "Rob" by Ghanaian artist Rob 'Roy' Raindorf, who released three albums from the late 70s to early 80s. The liner notes state that he was greatly influenced by American soul and R&B artists such as Otis Redding, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, and Ray Charles. Tracks like A1 and B1 are pure JB-influenced Afro-funk, exuding a sophisticated vibe within their raw funkiness. The mid-tempo soul of A2 is also incredibly cool. All six tracks are enjoyable without exception. The sound quality is excellent; Analog Africa truly does great work.
A1: Funky Rob Way
B1: Just One More Time
