A 1982 album by Puerto Rican percussionist Roberto Roena, whose sixth album was also featured in the first edition of the guidebook obscure sound. Fronting the set is the great Adalberto Santiago—best known for Fania All Stars, his own orchestra, and Tipica 73—delivering deeply emotive vocals in his unmistakably powerful voice. Backed by supremely refined, urban arrangements and exceptionally groovy performances that capture the essence of New York Latin at its peak, this is a superb salsa LP from start to finish. A4 and B4 are especially outstanding.

A4: La Vida No Vale Nada
B2: Te Solte La Rienda
B4: Yo Tenia Una Mujer
