This is the 1975 release by American trombonist Roswell Rudd, who began his career in the 1950s and became deeply connected to the free jazz scene in the 1960s through sessions with groups like the New York Art Quartet and Albert Ayler. This album features pianist Hod O'Brian and singer Sheila Jordan. Opening with mystical trombone solos, the album unfolds into a dramatic and spiritual jazz landscape. Highlights include an excellent cover of Michel Legrand's composition on track A1, where Jordan's weathered vocals and elegant piano follow Rudd's trombone, and a soulful rendition of Herbie Hancock's classic on track A2.
