Released in 1984 as the first album on School, the label founded by Ryuichi Sakamoto himself under Midi Inc., this is one of his great works. Following the electronic/new wave explorations of B-2 Unit and Left-Handed Dream, his contemporary ethnic music work with Danceries, and the soundtrack for Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Sakamoto brought together the sensibilities gained from those projects and elevated them into a new form of electronic music. The album combines programmed rhythm parts and glittering synthesizers with live performances by musicians such as Yukihiro Takahashi, Tatsuro Yamashita, Toshinori Kondo, David Van Tieghem, Gregori Czerkinsky, and Simon Jeffes, resulting in a masterpiece full of pop brilliance. This is the original first pressing, complete with the limited-edition 12-inch single. The three tracks included on the 45 rpm 12-inch are also highly recommended.

A1: Tibetan Dance
A3: Paradise Lost
C1: Replica
C2: マ・メール・ロア
