This is a 1977 leader album by the American pianist Sadik Hakim, who had been active since the 1940s, collaborating with renowned jazz musicians such as Dexter Gordon, Charlie Parker, and Lester Young, and leaving excellent works on labels like SteepleChase. Recorded in a New York studio the same year with a trio featuring Errol Walters (bass) and Taro Okamoto (drums), the album showcases Hakim's adventurous yet elegant piano playing. The tracks A1 and A3, where Hakim's piano dances alongside Walters' superb bass and Okamoto's Brazilian-feeling drumming, are particularly outstanding.
