This was featured in the guidebook "obscure sound". The first album by American composer Stanford Ponder was released in 1985 on the ambient label Private Music, run by Peter Baumann, the first member of Tangerine Dream and owner of Paragon Studio, where important kraut electronic artists such as Conrad Schnitzler and Roedelius have recorded. A masterpiece of imaginative new age/ambient music with extensive use of Fairlight CMI and Yamaha DX-7 throughout. B2, in which very transparent and wet electronic sounds are layered with ethnic melodies, is the best of all, so please give it a listen.
