This album was introduced in the first edition of the guidebook Obscure Sound. It is the sixth release by the Polish jazz-rock/progressive rock group SBB. Recorded and released in West Germany, it marked their Western European debut. The album was issued by the prestigious German label Spiegelei, known for producing many high-quality jazz-rock records. A total concept album, both sides are composed of multiple parts forming a symphonic suite with a wide range of developments. While it shares with SBB’s other works the aggressive yet symphonic progressive rock style featuring spacey synthesizer sounds, this album stands out for its exquisite mellow sensibility—highlighted by sweet, melancholic melodies and dreamy vocals that faintly recall U2’s Bono. This unique blend of elements can only be experienced on this particular record.
