Released in 1981 under the name Serge Blenner’s La Vogue, this was the second album by French synthesist Serge Blenner, who was based in Germany. It was issued by Sky Records, one of the most important labels in German electronic music. A masterpiece packed with experimental electronics built from space-dust-like synthesizer textures and mysterious melodies. A1 is especially intense: machine drums loop minimally while gradually shifting, decadent synthesizer melodies unfold, and a profusion of trippy sound effects seems to propel the listener toward the furthest reaches of the universe. A truly mind-expanding piece of electronic music.
