Released in 1981, this album is by Japanese composer Akira Saegusa, known for his mastery of contemporary music employing twelve-tone techniques, while also working extensively in the field of commercial music. The album features Hiroyuki Namba, Minoru Mukaiya, Satoshi Nakamura, Nobuo Kurata, Yasumasa Morimoto, Daiji Okada, and others. Created with the intention of expressing contemporary music—often burdened with an image of difficulty—within the fields of rock and pop, the album develops a highly electronic form of progressive rock. Aside from Daiji Okada’s drums, the sound is built almost entirely around analog synthesizers and vocoders, including the Mini Moog, ARP Odyssey, and Prophet-5. There are many fascinating sounds to be heard throughout. This is the 1987 reissue with different artwork, seemingly released at the time as part of a more commercially oriented “music interior”.
