Shinya Koide was a Japanese flutist who studied under Ririko Hayashi, the leading female flutist in Japan, after that, as a member of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and NHK Symphony Orchestra, and then moved to France in 1943, where he studied with Christian Larde, Jean-Pierre Rampal and other performers. This album was released in 1971. In this album, he plays music by Haruna Miyake, who left behind "Ichimen Nanohana" with Yuji Takahashi, which was introduced in "OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION"; Kazuo Fukushima, who worked with Toru Takemitsu and others in the artistic group "Experimental Studio" and left many works for the flute; and Akira Tamba, who studied music concrète and Japanese Noh in Paris from the 1960s. Aki Takahashi plays piano on A3. Haruna Miyake's A1 "Music for Piccolo Flute, Flute and Guitar" has a fantastic introduction with a drone-like long-tone flute. B1, "Mei" is a representative piece by Kazuo Fukushima with a beautiful, somewhat oriental melody and resonance.
