A magnificent 1975 duo album by two masters of North Indian Hindustani classical music: Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, one of the foremost santoor players with a career spanning from the 1960s and over a hundred recorded works, and Hariprasad Chaurasia, the highly acclaimed bansuri flautist renowned for his classical style. They are accompanied by tabla player Pandit Kashinath Mishra and tambura player Mrs. Anuradha Chaurasia. The result is a serene, meditative sound world where the delicate, resonant tones of the santoor intertwine with the slightly weathered timbre of the bansuri. On both sides the energy gradually rises in the later sections, leading to truly sublime performances throughout.
