This 1979 album by Simone, one of the leading female singers of the second generation of Brazilian MPB who has been active since the 1970s, is a true classic. Nelson Ayres contributes extensively with piano and arrangements, while top Brazilian jazz musicians such as Roberto Sion provide superb backing. The album features high-quality performances throughout, including the mellow ballad on track A4, where the contrast between soft, floating electric piano, wet-touch guitar, and Simone’s expressive vocals is beautifully realized.
