Released in 1984, this 12-inch single is by Soft Verdict, a group whose members included Peter Gordon, Wim Mertens, and Peter Principle, all of whom also left behind excellent solo works. This is a Japan-only release coupling two previously unreleased tracks at the request of the producer, Sirius. The pieces were later included on Wim Mertens’ solo album Educes Me. Side A features an ensemble of flute, harp, soprano saxophone, bass clarinet, and voice, unfolding in a chamber-music-like style where minimal repetitions gradually shift and overlap with beautiful melodies. Side B is a solemn solo performance on electronic organ by Wim Mertens.
