1988 album by Guinean singer Sona Diabaté—daughter of a griot musician and sister to Bembeya Jazz legend Sekou “Diamond Fingers” Diabaté and Sayon Diabaté—recorded here with singer M’Mah Sylla. Joined by singer Condette Kouyaté, guitarist/marimba player Demba Camara, and flautist/saxophonist Maitre Mamadou Aliou Barry, the group delivers seven superb tracks of beautifully layered harmony vocals set against graceful arrangements of acoustic guitar and xylophone-like melodic lines. The result is remarkably warm, light, and uplifting, with a softly floating feel that makes the whole album an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Highly recommended.
