The album was released in 1988 by La Sonora Poncena, a Puerto Rican salsa band founded by Enrique "Quique" Caraballo and featuring Enrique's son Papo Lucca, percussionist Roberto Roena, Johnny Rivero, singer Hector "Pichie" Perez and many others. As it was the late 80's, the band used digital synthesizers and glittering sounds to create a tropical salsa sound throughout this popular album.
