Steve Hillage, who left the psychedelic rock band Gong led by Daevid Allen to explore his own musical style, released his fourth solo album in 1978. Featuring a remarkable sense of elevation and exhilaration, especially in the soaring A2 track, the album blends the spaced-out psychedelic vibes he honed during his Gong days with an electronic sensibility that foreshadows the birth of ambient techno. This unique "Hillage style," fused with Canterbury rock, shines through brilliantly. It's an excellent work highly recommended for club use, especially in downtempo and ambient scenes.
