After graduating from Harvard University, Steve Kuhn studied innovative jazz at the Lenox Conservatory of Music, where he interacted with Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry, and later distinguished himself in groups with Kenny Dorham and John Coltrane. This is a solo piano album released in 1975 as his first album after moving to ECM, and he plays at a leisurely pace from start to finish while maintaining space and reverberation. The B-side shows a slow and steady development, and interplay of the showery barrage of hits that is the essence of Kuhn's work draws us in. Original German pressing.
