Steve Lacy has been active at the forefront of jazz since the mid-1950s, and since the mid-1960s he has contributed to the promotion of avant/free jazz through his participation in the Jazz Composers Orchestra, formed by Carla Bley and Michael Mantler, as well as numerous sessions, and regarded as one of the best soprano saxophone players in the world, released this album in 1975 on Saravah label, produced by Pierre Barough. The mysterious atmosphere of the minimalistic compositions and performance give the music a somewhat contemporary feel, reminding one of Don Cherry's classic "Human Music" recorded with John Appleton, although in a completely different style. There is a scratch on A2 and some intermittent noises.
