Contemporary/minimalist master Steve Reich's 1980 ECM release is a masterpiece, a follow-up to his historic 1978 ECM release Music for 18 Musicians, which featured percussionist Glen Velez, Larry Karush and many others. Music for a Large Ensemble" (A1), a score written for the band's performance at The Holland Festival in 1978, "Violin Phase" (A2) from 1967 and "Octet" (B1) from 1979.
