The latest work by Sugai Ken, a unique talent who translates the atmosphere and sentiment of Japan into experimental music, has arrived. This work was commissioned by the Dutch embassy, which had the sole diplomatic relations and deep cultural ties with Japan during the Edo period of national isolation. The theme is the Tone River, one of Japan's three major rivers, affectionately known as "Bando Taro." Using binaural microphones and underwater microphones, environmental sounds recorded on-site are used as material. Sugai Ken's unique "ma" (space/pause) and experimental sound processing create an ambient electronic soundscape that is consistently comfortable. This is the standard black vinyl version.
