This album, released in 1978 as part of a series that adopted CBS/Sony's analog record manufacturing technology, Master Sound, features excellent sound quality. Side A contains recordings of the Suwa Taiko drum performance, said to have originated from kagura and festival music in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture, where the Suwa Shrine, known for indigenous beliefs and the Onbashira Festival, is located. Suwa has been a prosperous settlement since the Jomon period. Side B features a performance of the Gojinjo Taiko, a traditional performing art that is said to have originated in Nabune Town, Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Both sides offer energetic and primal rhythm music, filled with a physical sense and an unstoppable downpour of continuous beats and syncopation. This is an outstanding recording that allows you to experience these performances in high-quality sound at 45 RPM.
