A leader album released in 1988 by Polish saxophonist Tomasz Szukalski, who, in addition to his work with Tomasz Stańko's group, released the renowned 1983 album Ambitus Extended in a duo with keyboardist/bassist Józef Skrzek, the leader of the space rock group SBB. This album features a quartet with Artur Dutkiewicz (p), Andrzej Cudzich (b), and Czesław "Mały" Bartkowski (ds). From a ballad on A1 that reflects a love for New Orleans jazz to a cover of The Beatles and avant-garde jazz with aggressive interplay, this outstanding work showcases contemporary jazz that heralds the dawn of the 1990s jazz scene.
