An album released in 1983 by Tabu Ley Rochereau, one of the central figures of the Congolese music scene, and Mbilia Bel, the queen of rumba congolaise. Tabu Ley Rochereau rose to international fame alongside Papa Wemba during the world music movement of the 1980s, while Mbilia Bel first gained recognition in the early '80s as a chorus member in his band before launching a successful solo career. From the late '80s onward, she relocated to Paris, where she continued to thrive alongside artists like Rigo Star. This masterpiece showcases vibrant rumba congolaise and soukous, filled with a tropical atmosphere. Notable tracks include the danceable C2, featuring a steady four-beat rhythm section and flowing electric guitar solos, and D1, where Mbilia’s warm and soothing vocals gently sway.
C2: Gagne Gagne, Perdu Perdu
D1: Balle a Terre
