This album was released in 1968 on A&M by Detroit-born singer Tamiko Jones, who debuted on Checker Records in 1963 and later gained popularity in the 1970s with a number of disco tracks. It was produced by Creed Taylor of CTI. The backing musicians include Chuck Rainey, Bernard Purdie, Warren Smith, Eric Gale, David Spinozza, Howard Johnson, and many others. The recordings were made at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio, with engineering also handled by Van Gelder. The album contains numerous excellent, single-friendly songs that blend soul, R&B, and pop with superb balance, and stands as a masterpiece that fully demonstrates Taylor’s remarkable production skills. This is the first Japanese pressing, released by King Records in 1969.
